The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself. (CCC # 1324)
As part of our Mission of Prayer, Community, and Faith, the Eucharist is the center of all we do in our parishes.
Second Grade: Each spring, our second grade students receive their First Holy Communion. Faith Formation students entering in second grade will automatically participate in the process leading up to their First Holy Communion.
Third Grade - High School: We welcome all children who are under 18 and are in third grade or above who are seeking to receive their First Holy Communion to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA - Adapted for Children & Families) process. Deacon Bruce Ziter and our Faith Formation team members will guide you through the process. Children who are Baptized and/or receive their First Communion through RCIA will be able to join their peers in Faith Formation once they are caught up to their grade level. Older children will also be given the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Adults: Adults interested in receiving the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation are invited to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process. RCIA is a program designed to teach adults about the Catholic Faith and prepare them to receive the Sacraments.
*To arrange First Communion for children in third grade and above who are under the age of 18, please contact the Director of Faith Formation for their parish or Deacon Bruce Ziter.
